About founder of itgirls

The Lifestyle brand “itgirls” was founded by Valencia Fikes, a native of Los Angeles who grew up with a profound love for fashion. As a young girl she could not afford designer labled apparel, so she sufficed to hand me downs. She knew that when she was older she wanted to create a brand that represented her passion for clothes and that became the catalyst for her emergence as the fashionista she is today.

Popularity was not something that Valencia had in her life and the struggle in her upbrining encouraged a negative enviorment of bullying and name-calling from peers about her clothes, that she can recall up to this day; however, she did not let that get in the way of her finding of her finding her joy later in her developement through the memories she shares with her aunts. As she grew older Valencia and her aunty’s went thrifting and Valencia would curate her own outfits that stood out to her friends, family, and coworkers. The name “itgirl” even derived from her coworker calling her “itgirl” when she saw Valencia in her outfits!

Valencia embodies what it means and feels like to be an “itgirl” through the clothes one wears and the way they represent themselves through the motivation onto themselves an onto others. She hopes to spread the ‘itgirls” brand to a community of friends and women who uplift and empower each other to be their best selves. She encourages people to exercise their goals and cultivate a space of acheivement. You can do “itgirl” because Valencia did it too. We are it!
